Way too much! :o) With my child (4) we probably spent about $400 this year that includes a big gift from us and santa and then a few little ones from us. My hubby and I are only buying stocking stuffers this year. Our daughter thinks santa brings a big gift and fills the stockings so she'll wonder why mommy and daddy don't have santa gifts. We'll probably get one gift for each other from the kids so they have something to give us. We have a new baby this year too but we only bought a few things that we would need (boppy pillow, diaper bag, etc) and our oldest will open them for her. We don't buy for anyone else outside of our immediate family, other than our nieces and nephew. All adults get a card and a little package of homemade goodies. Which is probably why we spend more on the kids, since we don't buy for others or much for ourselves.

I have four kids. I usually spend about 250 to 300 dollars on each of them. Less when they were babies, now they are getting old enough that want more expensive things, so there is less presents but they get what they really want.

For example this year my 7 and 6 year old are getting a Wii. I spent 350 on it and it came with games, two controllers, nun chucks, steering wheel etc. That only leaves me about 125 left for each of them, for smaller presents.

My two and three year old are getting a nice wooden table and chairs with a tea set that was about 200 dollars. So there is a little more money left over on them, but I will probably try and get an equal amount of presents under the tree since they are too little to understand the value of the dollar yet.

I spend an additional 20 to 30 dollars on each of their stockings.

For my husband I usually spend 50 to 100 dollars at most. We have a lot more fun shopping for the kids then each other. But this year I am going to surprise him and get an xbox 360 elite to replace our regular one. He will be through the moon!

Uhm, it varies.

Last Christmas, my mom spent nearly $1,500 on me because the laptop I got was over $1,000.
I don't know how much was spent on my brother.

This year, since I have everything already, I don't know how much she is spending.

I want:

SMB for Wii - $50
New shoes that tones your legs- $100
Bullet proof vest (im a police explorer) - $500

And that's all I want. I'd be thrilled to get that.

Me: 20 (21 in August)
Brother: 15(16 in July)

i dont have any children or a husband but it depends on the age of the children and you dont need to spend loads on ur husband..its the thought that counts as long as you buy him something he needs/will like

We are poor right now because I am in college, but we manage to save for x-mas so this is how it goes:

3 kids: 11, 9, and 4. The 11 and 4 year old are with us for the holiday, the 9-year old lives in AK with his mom.

Each gets one large gift around $100.
Each gets 2-3 smaller gifts from $10-$30
Santa brings the two that spend x-mas here one gift each plus they usually get a "joint" gift or two- games, paints, things they can share.
Santa stuffs the stockings and that usually costs around $150 for all 3 (the two kids plus their dad)

Now my partner and I usually don't buy gifts for each other. We do stockings for one another so that the kids don't think that Santa forgot us. lol

I have no kids or a husband since I'm only 16.
BUT I spend about £70 on mum and f**k all for everybody else. All they get is a card. I'm not made out of money.

My husband and I don't buy gifts for each other because we just feel it's more for the kids and we just get what we need/want when we need/want it. Sometimes we will get something for the house that we both want like a new dishwasher or whatever and call that our gift to each other. We haven't really needed or wanted anything this year though.

We have 4 children age 15, 15, 12 and 9 and we spent about $400. on each maybe even a tad more including stocking stuffers but since my kids are older, the things they want cost much more so even though we spent a lot my older three only have about 4 or 5 things under the tree while my youngest has more because the things he wants cost less and my older boys understand this and are fine with it.

My family's pretty big, and we all live near each other. So what we do is designate a set spending limit, say, $20. Write all our names on slips of papers and throw them in a hat. Then we each pick out a slip, and that's who we buy for that year. My mom, dad, younger brother (18), aunt, uncle, two cousins (6, 10) and grandmother do this every year and it works out fine. I don't have any children but, if I did I'm sure I'd spoil them. :P

I typically end up spending $150 per kid. So in total we spend $300 roughly. I usually spend about $5 on my husband. I buy him a really nice card and write a really nice message in it. He does the same thing. My husband and I don't give one another anything for Christmas. We have more fun investing it into the holiday itself. Like this year we went out and purchased a bigger tree. When we asked my son what he wanted for Christmas he said he wanted a BIG Christmas Tree. =)

I have one child right now (he's 2 years old), and I will probably spend less than $100 on him. He has so many toys and I buy clothes for him as he needs them. I don't want to buy / spend too much when he'll be happy with the box the toy comes in. LOL!

For my husband, I usually spend ~ $200, but have spent up to $500 before on a splurge gift. This year will probably be less, though, b/c he has everything.
