Effect of meteor after striking on earth will depend on how large meteor was. There will be huge heat wave and dust of clouds. In a couple of days or weeks, approx 60 to 80% of life will wipe away. Humans will totally finish but the varieties of bacteria will survive.
It is totally a disaster. Now I will explain you how it is going to give effect. If meteor crash in to water then high tidal waves of enormous kilometer will attack the seashore and wipe out millions of people. If it strikes on land, it starts making a chain reaction as hue wall of fire. This wall of fire moves across the earth and wipe out life. Everywhere in the atmosphere there will be dust and it would block the sun. Due to this, plant will die and then herbivores and then carnivores will die. Only fish and Bacteria will survive.
