Would it make sense to bring our two cars from New Zealand to Australia when we move?

We have a 2004 Ford Falcon XT and a 2000 Toyota Tarago 3.0 with extremely low mileage and in great shape. We may move to Australia in two years' time, and we're wondering if bringing the cars with us would make any sense. Has anyone here taken a car across the Tasman? Is it worth it?
"Outback fun" isn't so much on our agenda as getting around Melbourne in comfort, although I wouldn't say no to the odd road trip, of course.

The cost of cars is a lot higher in NZ than over here so save the transport cost , sell for as much as you can & you'll be able to do a deal on the car of your choice when you get here ....

Check them out online beforehand to give yourself some idea of prices & availability...

In all honestly you would be better off $$$ wise selling them here (trademe etc) and buying in Aussie.
Well defiantly get rid of the Ford and buy a HOLDEN when you get to Oz ;)

It would not make economical sense to bring your two cars to Australia in 2 years time as cars in Australia are very cheap.Assuming you are buying second hand cars it cost only $1000-$20000.And you can get tax rebates from your tax.Australia has a High income tax about 40% so it would be best to try to offload some of these taxes by getting a new car in Australia when you live there. That's what my Uncle told me.
It would not make economical sense as well as you have to pay for the shipping and transport cost and depending on the part of Australia you are staying i am assuming that you are planning to live in the east it may be cheaper but not in Westen Australia like the City of Perth as it is quite a long distance away from Dundein
I would advise you to sell your two cars in New Zealand to a second hand car dealer and buy a new car in Australia. You will get a better quality car and more tax rebates

Yours in Christ
